I stay with my friend and we are total of 6 pax! We booked different departures 3 of my friends stay from Aug 21 to 23 and 3 of us booked until Aug. 25, 2023. It is all smooth during the check in and when we enter the room “ 6 bunk bed” we got disappointed due to foul smell! And they have 2 unit of Air conditioning but only 1 unit is open so we need to go down to talk to the lady receptionist to ask for the remote so we can open another unit. Before we go out for dinner we want to freshen up! we went to the shared bathroom and to our surprise! toilet is smelly and shower are filthy. I went to the reception to complain about the room, toilet and shower area. We decided to shorten our stay and check out the same day with our friends and move to another hotel, the receptionist told me to go back the next day and talked to her colleague because she don’t know what to do as she is new staff. I went to the reception in the morning and I told them that I will shorten my stay and I want to refund my money for the period that I will not stay in the property another receptionist told me that I need to contact booking.com as they will decide regarding my request. I told her that I already send email last night, however booking.com didn’t respond yet. So we go out for a tour and when we go back to our room at around 4:00 pm they turn off the Air conditioning and they put electric fan and they let the window open because they repaint inside our room! “Without any information” the other guest “korean guy” is sweating and said that he stay in the room without air conditioning for couple of hours! The smell of the paint is too strong it’s difficult to breathe. so I went down to reception and ask why they turn off the AC and they just said that we will go to your room in a minute! No apology at all!!! So I call booking.com to inform our situation and they try to call the property but they don’t answer the call. we decided to leave the next day because they totally ruin our holiday! I don’t wait for booking.com response! until now they don’t help us to get our money for the period that we don’t stay. We understand the policy however we will not shorten our stay if thé facility is clean and also if they give us a good service! This property is totally a mess! avoid staying here if you want to enjoy your holiday and if you want value for your money! I will never book with booking.com! they will not extend help!

Mould and Grime everywhere

!!!! What a dump, pictures online are not one bit like the place. There is grime and mould everywhere, I had to walk out within an hour of checking in and book elsewhere and they will not return your payment as she said no refunds . How people actually give this place more than 1 star is laughable , they had mattresses on the floor between bunk beds , no free lockers for your bags , slum toilets with no paper. The list goes on , stay well away !!!!!!

Dangerous Inn which operates like a migrant worker dormitory

Please read - IMPORTANT about Campbell Inn: My 3 tourist friends from overseas have encountered potential scamming of tourists at this Campbell Inn. They have lodged a police report and contact Singapore Tourism Board and CASE in regards to this case. Hope by doing so, it will prevent the owner of Campbell Inn from cheating other tourists and disgracing Singapore as a safe country again. My 3 friends were ignorant of the various Google negative reviews of Campbell Inn and booked two nights with the Inn. However it seems that they have been scammed. It was their first visit to Singapore and she emailed and they tried to call the Inn several times without getting a proper response from the Inn. They wanted to inform the Inn about the late timing that they would be reaching the Inn. However as the Inn was uncontactable for a proper response, the 3 tourists decided to check-in physically at the premises. The Inn was obviously unsafe as it was occupied by alot of migrant workers in the premises and look more like a illegal foreign worker dormitory. The 3 tourists were initially informed by the receptionist that their room were given to other workers and were even asked to stay together with the male workers in the same room. They realized that these workers were wearing scantily (only sarongs) in the room and some of them appears to be drunk. The 3 tourists refused and left the Inn immediately feeling the whole situation was not right and unsafe. However they were left stranded on the streets in the middle of the night. My friends credit card was deducted for the nights which they did not stay in the Inn. They believed that the Inn management have planned this scam in such a manner that they can easily cheat the tourists who did not know the actual ground situation of the Inn. Also suspect several of these workers may be overstayers without legal work permits as they seems to be staying there for a long time. The Inn is definitely not a safe place for tourists to stay in. The practice of this Inn not only causes distress to the overseas visitors but also shame us Singaporeans which our country projected a very safe reputation to visitors from all over the world. The matter has been reported to relevant Singapore authorities.
